Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Re: The Future of the Grateful Dead

The great cultural period in America 1920 - 1980 (art, film, literature, music) has been well documented, audio visual immortality preserved. Therefore the Grateful Dead will exist in a form until planet earth (eternity) eventually turns against itself (entropy) and rears a universal evolutionary change.

In the meantime, Phil & Jill Lesh have taken on an ambitious project "Terrapin Crossroads" a multi-aspect cultural venue in San Rafael featuring a restaurant with sustainable local fresh organic foods, a music room and a lounge. With the draw being the restaurant, and the occasional music event perhaps they will have a more solid foundation for longevity compared to The Sweetwater.

I'm sure at this juncture all of the living dead (Hart, Kreutzmann, Lesh, Weir) would prefer staying closer to home now that there is a home-based stage to perform upon and a reference studio to record within (TRI).
